Schueco uPVC systems

Schueco system comparison: CT 70, SoftSlide, EasySlide and Perfect

We make windows and doors from three Schueco systems today, and Schueco Perfect is coming to Australia. Here they are side by side, with the figures from Schueco's documents and our WERS ratings, so you can pick a system for each opening before documentation.

Schueco publishes some figures for one system and not another. Where a figure isn't published, the table says so rather than filling the gap.

Choosing

Which system for which opening

Most houses use two or three systems. Start from what each opening has to do, then check the size, weight and rating it needs.

Bedrooms, bathrooms, stairwells

CT 70 tilt and turn. It has the lowest air infiltration in our WERS range (0.03 L/s·m²), the tested 47 dB acoustic result and RC 2, and the tilt position ventilates while locked.

Tilt and turn windows →

Kitchens and outward-opening windows

CT 70 casement or awning where the sash must open out, for example over a bench or onto a walkway the sash can't swing into. WERS Uw from 1.6 double glazed.

Awning windows →

Large glass that doesn't open

CT 70 fixed glazing: our lowest WERS Uw (0.9 triple glazed) and the widest SHGC range (0.18–0.62), so the assessor can tune heat gain on each elevation.

Fixed windows →

Standard sliding doors and windows

SoftSlide, for vents up to 1750 × 2200 mm and 100 kg on a 20 mm aluminium threshold, with WERS ratings already on file. Not for facades that need a rated acoustic or RC door.

Sliding doors →

Panels that park behind each other

SoftSlide 3-track stacking doors (types 08–11). EasySlide runs on two tracks only, so it can't stack.

Stacking doors →

The biggest, heaviest doors

EasySlide for vents wider than SoftSlide allows, heavy triple or acoustic glass up to 300 kg, a flush threshold, Rw 43 dB or RC 2. Allow time for energy data, as it has no WERS listing yet.

Lift and slide doors →

Hinged doors to a deck or balcony

CT 70 French doors, with sashes up to 1350 mm wide or 2600 mm high and a 20 mm threshold. Schueco glass or bar fall protection fits CT 70; check the NCC requirements for each project.

French doors →

Front door

CT 70 entrance door: leaf 700–1100 × 2300 mm, 100 kg, RC 2, Rw 38 dB, up to a 5-point MultiTec lock and a 20 mm threshold.

Entrance doors →

Integrated blinds and flyscreens

That's what Schueco Perfect is for, and it isn't available here yet. On a current job, use CT 70 and detail shading and screens separately, or register interest for a later stage.

Notes for specifiers

Reading the table correctly

  • Uf is the frame only. Energy assessors use whole-window Uw and SHGC from WERS. A low Uf on paper doesn't help an assessment if the product has no WERS listing yet, which is the case for EasySlide.
  • Sound figures are laboratory results for a tested size and glass unit. The glass unit decides where a window lands in the range; see soundproof windows for the CT 70 test series.
  • WERS names say "CT 70 SoftSlide". That's how the ratings are listed. SoftSlide is still its own 74 mm platform, made to combine with CT 70.
  • Size limits are for white. Foiled profiles have lower limits; see colours and finishes.
  • Perfect data is European. We'll publish Australian figures only once we supply it.

Next step

Send the schedule, we'll assign the systems

Send the window and door schedule with opening sizes, orientation and any acoustic or BASIX requirements. We'll mark the system for each opening, flag sizes that exceed Schueco's limits for the colour you've chosen, and give your assessor the WERS rating IDs.

Section drawings and Uf tables for each system are in our downloads. For how the window data feeds a 7-star assessment, see the BASIX windows guide.

Not sure which system suits an opening? Send us the plans.

FAQ

Questions from builders and architects

Which Schueco system do you use for windows?

CT 70 for tilt and turn, casement, awning and fixed windows. Sliding windows are SoftSlide, which WERS lists as "CT 70 SoftSlide Sliding Window". SoftSlide is a separate 74 mm sliding platform that Schueco designs to combine with CT 70.

Is EasySlide the same system as SoftSlide?

No. SoftSlide is an in-line sliding system: the vent rolls on its track, up to 100 kg, over a 20 mm aluminium threshold. EasySlide is a lift and slide system: the handle lifts the vent off its seals, so vents up to 300 kg slide easily, and it closes onto a flush, thermally broken threshold. EasySlide also has Rw 43 dB and RC 2 ratings, which Schueco doesn't publish for SoftSlide.

Which system has WERS ratings for BASIX?

CT 70 tilt and turn, fixed, casement, awning windows and hinged doors, and SoftSlide sliding doors and windows: 340 ratings in total under the manufacturer name Sustainable Windows. EasySlide has no WERS listing yet, so we supply Schueco's Uf data for the assessor on request.

Can I order Schueco Perfect?

Not yet. Perfect is coming to Australia but we don't import it. It is built on Schueco's 82 mm LivIng platform, with sun shading, flyscreens, fall protection and thresholds as factory-matched modules. Register interest on the Perfect page and we'll contact you when it's available.

Can different systems be mixed on one house?

Yes, and most jobs do. CT 70 windows and doors, SoftSlide and EasySlide all take the same Schueco foils, so colours match across the elevation. The exception is TopAlu aluminium cladding, which isn't offered on SoftSlide.

Which system is quietest?

CT 70, tested by Schueco to Rw 47 dB on a tilt and turn window with acoustic laminated glass. Among doors, EasySlide reaches up to Rw 43 dB and CT 70 doors up to Rw 38 dB. Schueco publishes no sound rating for SoftSlide.
