uPVC windows supplier on the North Shore
North Shore work means renovating Federation and interwar homes under heritage controls, and building apartments around the railway stations. We supply Schueco uPVC windows and doors to builders and architects on both kinds of job.
Councils and building context
The Lower North Shore is covered by North Sydney, Willoughby, Lane Cove and Mosman councils; the Upper North Shore by Ku-ring-gai and Hornsby. The T1 North Shore Line and the Pacific Highway run up the ridge through all of them, with the Warringah Freeway at the southern end and the M1 at Wahroonga.
Ku-ring-gai in particular has large heritage conservation areas of Federation and Californian bungalow houses. It's also where the NSW Government's Transport Oriented Development program targeted the station precincts at Roseville, Lindfield, Killara and Gordon, and the council has been preparing its own alternative plans for the same areas. On top of that, the state's low and mid-rise housing policy, in force since February 2025, allows terraces, townhouses and small apartment buildings within walking distance of nominated stations and town centres across Sydney. Expect more multi-residential work along the line in the coming years, next to streets where renovation stays tightly controlled.

Heritage
Windows in conservation areas
In a heritage conservation area, replacing street-facing windows usually needs council consent, and the DCP will talk about proportions, glazing bars and frame colour. Some councils still expect timber on the main elevation, so raise uPVC with the council or your heritage consultant before you specify it.
Where uPVC is accepted, CT 70 has more to work with than a standard flat-profile window. The Classic sash is square-edged; the Rondo sash has a softer, stepped profile. Glazing bars (fitted inside the double glazed unit) and shaped units (arched and raked heads) are available, and Schueco's woodgrain foils give a timber look with no painting. Rear additions, where controls are lighter, can use the same system with larger glass and lift and slide doors.
The upgrade case is strong in old houses: single-glazed timber sashes leak air and heat. Our WERS-rated CT 70 tilt and turn windows reach Uw 1.2 W/(m²K) with triple glazing and an air infiltration rate of 0.03 L/s·m².

Supply
From St Marys to the North Shore
We deliver North Shore jobs from St Marys. Many sites here have tight street access or no room to stage materials, so tell us about access and timing when you order. Architects can get section drawings and Uf tables from our downloads page for heritage submissions and BASIX; AS 2047 test reports are available on request. Bring your client to the St Marys showroom to see the contours and foils before the DA goes in.

FAQ
Questions from builders and architects
Can uPVC windows be used in a heritage conservation area?
Often, but check with the council first. Street-facing windows in conservation areas are usually assessed against the DCP, and some councils prefer timber on the main elevation. Where uPVC is accepted, CT 70 Classic or Rondo sashes, glazing bars and woodgrain foils help match the original look.
Which councils make up the North Shore?
On the Lower North Shore: North Sydney, Willoughby, Lane Cove and Mosman. On the Upper North Shore: Ku-ring-gai and Hornsby. Each has its own DCP and heritage controls.
What helps with Pacific Highway noise?
Acoustic laminated glass in a well-sealed frame. CT 70 has two continuous gasket levels and a tested tilt and turn window reached Rw 47 dB. An acoustic consultant sets the target for each facade and we match the glass to it.
