Colours and finishes for Schueco uPVC windows and doors
White, more than 300 Schueco UnlimitedFinish foils in single colours, metallics and woodgrains, or TopAlu aluminium cladding outside in any RAL or anodised colour. One colour concept runs across CT 70 windows, SoftSlide and EasySlide doors, so every elevation on a job can match.
Three ways to finish a Schueco uPVC frame
- White. The standard profile colour, and the one with the largest size limits in Schueco's tables.
- Foiled. A Schueco UnlimitedFinish foil laminated onto the profile. Schueco describes the range as RAL-certified, fade-resistant and weather-resistant, and uses the same foils across all its uPVC window, door and sliding systems.
- TopAlu. Aluminium cover caps clipped to the outside of the frame and sash, powder-coated in any RAL colour or anodised. The inside stays uPVC, in white or a foil.
One side or both
Foils go on the outside, the inside or both, and the two faces can carry different foils. That lets you match the exterior to the cladding or roof and keep the interior white, or run a woodgrain inside where the joinery calls for it. Specify inside and outside separately on the window schedule, per elevation if they vary.
Schueco applies foils to profiles in one of several base colours, such as white, cream white, grey or dark grey. Which base comes with a given foil depends on the system, and we confirm it when we price the job.
What a colour changes
Schueco requires foiled profiles to be steel-reinforced in CT 70 and sets lower size limits for foiled units across its systems. Large openings that work in white may need a different layout in a dark foil.

The three foil groups
Schueco's foil brochure (P4191, 2025) lists more than 300 single colours, metallic colours and woodgrains, split into three groups. The group affects price and how long the foil takes to arrive.
SELECTED by Schueco special edition
Eleven foils chosen by Schueco, with a surcharge: Mattex Shine Beige, Mattex Shine White Aluminium, Mattex Jet Black, Turner Oak Toffee, Mattex Shine Deep Bronze, Mattex DB 703, Mattex Umbra Grey, Turner Oak Malt, Mattex Shine Grey Aluminium, Mattex Shine Dark Graphite and Sheffield Oak Concrete. Schueco says the metallics in this set look like powder-coated aluminium.
Standard range
Metallic colours, single colours and woodgrains. Most are standard price; Schueco marks some with a surcharge. In Schueco's CT 70 foil overview, Golden Oak, Walnut and Anthracite grey (similar to RAL 7016) sit in the fastest delivery group.
Special range
The largest group, again in metallics, single colours and woodgrains. Schueco quotes price and delivery time for these on request, so pick a special foil early in the programme and ask us before you lock it into the schedule.
Woodgrains
Timber look without timber maintenance
Woodgrains run through all three foil groups. Schueco says the wood finishes in the SELECTED set are barely distinguishable from real wood; that set includes Turner Oak Malt, Turner Oak Toffee and Sheffield Oak Concrete. Golden Oak and Walnut are in Schueco's fastest delivery group for CT 70.
On heritage streets and renovation work, a woodgrain foil outside with white inside keeps a timber look from the street. On a design-led job, the reverse also works: a plain dark foil outside and a woodgrain inside.
Looking after foiled frames
Schueco foils have a clear protective acrylic film on top. Schueco warns that etching and abrasive cleaners destroy that layer. Its EasyCare kit for foiled uPVC (Art. No. 98050533) has a care emulsion, fittings spray and gasket cleaner. Pass that on to the client with the handover documents.
Schueco TopAlu
Aluminium outside, uPVC inside
TopAlu is a set of aluminium cover caps that clip onto the outside of the uPVC frame and sash. The outside reads as aluminium, in any RAL powder-coat colour or anodised; the inside keeps the uPVC frame and its thermal performance.
- CT 70 windows, on Classic and Rondo sashes.
- CT 70 entrance doors.
- EasySlide lift and slide doors, type 01.
- Not on SoftSlide. Schueco doesn't offer TopAlu for SoftSlide sliding doors or windows. Use a matching foil instead, or EasySlide where the opening suits a lift and slide door.
TopAlu adds a little to the frame. On the standard CT 70 Classic frame and sash, Schueco's section shows a face width of 122.8 mm and a depth of 73.7 mm with the caps, against 120 mm and 70 mm without. CT 70 profiles with TopAlu are always steel-reinforced.

Hardware colours
Handles to suit the frame
Schueco window handles come in several finishes, including white, black, grey, silver and gold, with lockable versions that take a key. A white handle on a white frame and a black or grey handle on a dark foil is the usual pairing, but the handle can contrast too.
Schueco designs its entrance door handles to match the window and sliding door handles, so one handle style can run through the house. For entrance doors, security handle sets raise resistance up to RC 2. VarioTec window fittings are supplied in silver.
Put the handle colour on the schedule with the frame colour. If the client wants to hold a few before choosing, we'll have them out at the showroom.

Screens and printed charts don't show foil texture or how a metallic reads in daylight. We keep foil samples, handles and profile sections at our St Marys showroom, 21 Severn St. Visits are by appointment, Monday to Friday 8:00 to 17:00.

Questions from builders and architects
What colours do Schueco uPVC windows come in?
Standard white, or one of more than 300 Schueco UnlimitedFinish foils in single colours, metallic colours and woodgrains. On CT 70 windows and doors and on EasySlide type 01 doors, TopAlu aluminium cover caps can be added outside in any RAL or anodised colour.
Can the inside and outside be different colours?
Yes. Foils can go on the outside only, the inside only or both, and the two faces can be different foils. For example, a dark grey or black foil outside with white inside.
Does a coloured finish change the maximum window size?
Yes. Schueco requires foiled profiles to be steel-reinforced and sets lower limits for them. For CT 70, the maximum element area is 7.0 m² in white and 5.0 m² foiled (6.0 m² with reinforcement of 2 mm or more), and a foiled outer frame bar is limited to 2.6 m for a one-part frame against 4.0 m in white. Send us the sizes with the colour and we'll check each opening.
Can SoftSlide sliding doors have aluminium cladding?
No. Schueco doesn't offer TopAlu on SoftSlide. SoftSlide doors and windows take the same foils as CT 70, so a dark foil on the sliders will match foiled CT 70 windows. Where a job needs aluminium outside on a large sliding door, look at EasySlide type 01.

Do all foils cost the same?
No. Schueco groups its foils into the standard range, where some colours carry a surcharge, the special range, priced and scheduled on request, and the SELECTED by Schueco special edition, which also carries a surcharge. We price the foil on the quote.
