uPVC windows supplier in the Blue Mountains
The Blue Mountains asks two things of a window that Sydney mostly doesn't: keep the heat in through a cold winter, and meet the bushfire requirements for the site. We supply Schueco uPVC windows and doors to Mountains builders from St Marys, at the bottom of the hill.
Blue Mountains City Council
One council, Blue Mountains City Council, covers the 27 towns and villages strung along the ridge for around 100 km, from Lapstone and Glenbrook through Springwood, Faulconbridge, Lawson, Wentworth Falls, Leura and Katoomba to Blackheath and Mount Victoria. About 70% of the city's area is World Heritage-listed national park, part of the Greater Blue Mountains Area.
Building work is mostly alterations, additions and rebuilds of detached houses on bush blocks, many of them steep. The Great Western Highway and the Blue Mountains rail line run the length of the ridge, so homes along them also deal with traffic and train noise.
Cold winters
Katoomba is about 1,017 m above sea level and Blackheath slightly higher, and the upper Mountains get frosts and occasional snow in winter. Heating is the bigger energy load, which changes the window priorities: low U-value first, then solar gain where the sun can reach the glass.
CT 70 suits this climate. The frame reaches Uf from 1.2 W/(m²K), the sash takes glass up to 42 mm, and our WERS ratings with AGG triple glazing reach Uw 0.9 for fixed windows and 1.2 for tilt and turn. A warmer frame also means less condensation on the inside face on frosty mornings. BASIX assesses the house against its own climate zone, so your assessor will see the difference triple glazing makes up here.

Bushfire
Bush fire prone land
Blue Mountains City Council's bush fire prone land map, certified by the NSW Rural Fire Service Commissioner on 14 May 2025, covers the vast majority of land in the city. On mapped land, the bushfire attack level (BAL) is assessed for the individual site, and the construction requirements for windows and doors follow from that level.
We don't make general BAL claims for our windows and doors. If your site has a BAL assessment, send it with the window schedule before you lock in the specification. We'll tell you what we can supply for that level, so there are no surprises at the construction certificate stage.

Supply
From the foot of the mountains
St Marys is at the eastern end of the Great Western Highway corridor, so we're well placed for Mountains deliveries. Many sites have steep or narrow driveways and limited truck access; tell us about it when you order. Western Sydney International's night-time noise abatement procedure is designed to keep flights away from the Blue Mountains when it's safe to do so, but check specific addresses on the government's flight path tool.

FAQ
Questions from builders and architects
Is triple glazing worth it in the upper Blue Mountains?
Often, yes. Katoomba sits about 1,000 m above sea level and winters are cold, so heat loss matters more than in Sydney. The CT 70 sash takes glass up to 42 mm, and our WERS ratings with triple glazing reach Uw 0.9 W/(m²K) for fixed windows and 1.2 for tilt and turn.
Can you supply windows for a BAL-rated site?
Most of the Blue Mountains is mapped bush fire prone, and the BAL is assessed for each site. Send us the BAL assessment with your schedule before you specify and we'll tell you what we can supply for that level. We don't make general BAL claims.
Do uPVC windows help with condensation?
They reduce it. The CT 70 frame has five chambers and two seal levels, so the inside face of the frame stays warmer than an aluminium frame would, and double or triple glazed units keep the glass surface warmer too.
Do you deliver up the mountains?
Yes. We're at St Marys, at the foot of the mountains, and deliver along the Great Western Highway to towns from Glenbrook to Mount Victoria.
